Tree Removal in Charlotte, NC

Safe, insured tree removal of any size — climbed, bucketed, or craned out.

Service Overview

Tree Removal Service tailored to your property

Charlotte's mature canopy of willow oaks, water oaks, loblolly pines, and hickories is one of the best things about the Queen City — until one is leaning over the roofline, splitting at a co-dominant stem, or dropping limbs every storm. We handle full tree removals of every size across the Charlotte metro, from a single dead pine in the back corner to multi-tree removals around houses, pools, driveways, and power lines.

Every removal is planned before the first cut: rigging points, drop zones, escape paths, and protection for everything that stays. We climb, we use bucket trucks, and we bring in cranes when the tree, the access, or the surroundings call for it. The goal is simple — get the tree on the ground without putting your house, your fence, your hardscape, or your neighbors at risk.

Who it's for

Homeowners with hazardous trees

Leaning trunks, dead limbs over the roof, splits in the canopy, root rot at the base, or trees too close to the foundation — we assess the risk honestly and remove only what actually needs to come down.

Properties with large oaks & pines

Big willow oaks in Myers Park, loblolly pines in Ballantyne, and mature hardwoods around Lake Norman — when the tree is too big to drop in one piece, we crane it out in sections.

HOAs & commercial properties

Common-area canopy management, parking-lot tree removals, and sight-line clearing scheduled to keep your property safe without disrupting tenants or residents.

How we scope your project

Every property is different, so every quote is too. Here's the general path we take from first call to finished work — adjusted to fit the size, complexity, and goals of your specific project.

  1. 1. On-site tree assessment

We walk the property with you, evaluate each tree's condition and risk, talk through what should stay versus go, and explain the safest removal method for each one.

  2. 2. Written quote & plan

You get a tree-by-tree quote with the removal method (climb, bucket, crane), debris handling (chip on-site or haul off), and stump grinding called out separately as an add-on.

  3. 3. Rig & remove

Drop zones flagged, ropes set, neighboring trees and structures protected. Limbs are lowered with rigging where needed — never free-dropped onto a roof, fence, or hardscape.

  4. 4. Cleanup & haul-off

Brush is chipped, logs are bucked and hauled off (or left for firewood if you want them), and the work area is raked clean. We leave the property looking like we were never there — except for the tree.

Frequently asked questions

How much does tree removal cost in Charlotte?+

Most residential removals run $400–$2,500 per tree depending on size, location, and access. Large oaks, pines, or hardwoods near structures or power lines run higher and may need a crane ($2,500–$6,000+). Stump grinding is typically $4–$8 per inch of diameter.

Are you insured?+

Yes — fully insured with general liability and workers' comp specific to tree work. We're happy to send certificates of insurance directly to you or your HOA before we book the job.

Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Charlotte?+

Many Charlotte-area municipalities have heritage tree ordinances and HOAs may require approval for removals over a certain diameter. We'll let you know what's required for your address before any cut and can help with the paperwork if needed.

Will you grind the stump too?+

Yes — we offer stump grinding as an add-on to any removal. It's quoted as a separate line item so you can decide. We can grind 4–8 inches below grade and either haul the chips off or leave them as mulch.
