Seasonal Color & Landscape Design in Charlotte, NC
Annual color rotations and full bed designs that keep your property vibrant year-round.
Service Overview
Seasonal Color & Landscape Design tailored to your property
A landscape that looks alive in every season takes a little planning. Spring tulips and pansies give way to summer annuals like vinca and lantana that handle Charlotte's heat, fall mums and ornamental cabbage, then winter pansies that hold color from November through March. We plan and install seasonal color rotations for homeowners, HOAs, and commercial properties across the Charlotte metro.
Beyond annuals, we design full perennial beds — the kind where something is blooming or showing color every month of the growing season. Whether you want a single statement planter at the entrance or a coordinated color program across an entire commercial campus, we handle the design, sourcing, and seasonal install.

Who it's for
Homeowners who want year-round curb appeal
Spring/summer/fall/winter rotations on entry beds, planters, and front foundation areas — your home looks intentional in every season.
Commercial & retail properties
Entrance beds and amenity-area color programs that signal a well-run property — installed before the calendar turn so you're never the one with last season's dead mums.
HOAs & communities
Entrance signs, monument plantings, and pool-area color handled on a coordinated calendar across the property.
How we scope your project
Every property is different, so every quote is too. Here's the general path we take from first call to finished work — adjusted to fit the size, complexity, and goals of your specific project.
1. Design consultation
We walk the property, talk about your color preferences, evaluate sun and watering, and lay out a year-round plan with target install dates for each rotation.
2. Plant sourcing
Annuals sourced fresh from regional growers — robust, well-rooted plants that hit the ground already established, not stressed nursery leftovers.
3. Bed prep & install
Old material removed, soil refreshed and fertilized, new plants installed at proper spacing and depth, watered in. Containers and planters refreshed the same day.
4. Care & next rotation
We handle the next rotation on the calendar — you don't have to remember when it's pansy time. Optional weekly deadhead and refresh service available.
Why Piedmont Landscape & Irrigation

Frequently asked questions
How many color rotations per year?+
Most properties run 3–4 rotations: spring (pansies/tulips), summer (heat-tolerant annuals), fall (mums/cabbage), and winter (pansies). Higher-end commercial programs sometimes run 5+ with mid-summer refreshes.
What annuals handle Charlotte summers?+
Vinca, lantana, pentas, angelonia, and SunPatiens are workhorses that hold up to our heat and humidity. We mix in coleus and ornamental grasses for texture. We stay away from anything that fades by July.
Do you offer full landscape design?+
Yes — for clients wanting more than annual color we design full perennial beds, foundation plantings, and complete landscape installs. Simple plans included with install; detailed designs available at an additional fee.
Can you maintain the color between rotations?+
Yes — optional bi-weekly deadhead, fertilization, and refresh service keeps annuals looking sharp through the entire season instead of fading mid-cycle.
